It’s my 2nd favorite holiday and today, I’m just trying not to jinx myself. Because me and Valentine’s Day…let’s just say we haven’t been on very good terms for the past 5 years. And I’m determined to change that if I can! And by change that, I mean not do anything at all and just cross my fingers that nothing disastrous occurs.
I thought last year would be the year. My expectations weren’t set too high and Valentine’s Day landed on a weekend which meant I’d be able to spend the day with J, even though it was right in the middle of tax season. But alas, it all came crashing down. Again. And I’d venture to say that aside from the disaster of 2007, it was probably the worst I’ve ever experienced. So that probably means that things are looking up, right?
Today I get to spend the entire day visiting places I love, eating food I love, with the one I love. And life is good. And I’m happy. And I’m really, really hoping it stays that way. So I’m going to just end this post here because I’m extra superstitious this year. But before I go, here’s a behind the scenes image from an engagement session we photographed this past weekend. I felt it was appropriate to post on Valentine’s Day because it showcases some of the things that I love: J, my clients, beautiful weather in OC and the privilege I have to photograph and celebrate other people’s love, all year long.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
